"What Are The Spiritual Truths Hidden In The Tarot?"
Date: 1/25/2020 10:00:00 AM
Topic of Study: Esotericism
Presenter: Carolyn Bellinger-Kawahara
Synopsis: More than simply a tool for fortune-telling and divination, the Tarot represents a metaphysical journey. Although its exact origins are unknown, the cards have been variously attributed to esoteric philosophical schools of Egypt or India. The Major Arcana can be considered as a map of Consciousness, and the symbols on the cards are intended to serve as visual keys to impart certain mysteries. Like the Tarot, Freemasonry is also a metaphysical and spiritual journey that speaks in symbols to awaken and stimulate an awareness of higher truths. If you have a favorite deck, feel free to bring it for "Show-and-Tell."

"A human being is a part of a whole, called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest ... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
