Is chaos a positive or a negative contributor to our existence?
Date: 3/7/2020 10:00:00 AM
Topic of Study: Formal Science
Presenter: Amy Palian
Synopsis: Chaos is defined as a lack of organization or order. Many will agree that human existence would have been much different if there was no chaos. Some will agree that chaos is necessary for growth and advancement. In this discussion, we will talk about whether we are better off without chaos in our lives or with it? “Ordo Ab Chao” is a Latin term often used in Freemasonry which translates to “Order from Chaos”. If chaos is defined as a lack of order, then how can we bring order out of something that lacks it?

"A human being is a part of a whole, called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest ... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
